ALM was formed in 1987 by a small group of executives who had previously managed the aircraft trading and asset management function at British Caledonian Airways, a privately owned flag carrier.

During the early years of the company its executives were involved inter alia in the development of Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services' business and the management of the International Leisure Group/Air Europe's aircraft portfolio.

The management and staff of Aircraft Leasing & Management have wide-ranging, hands-on experience in airline, aircraft manufacturing and aircraft trading environments, together with strong academic and professional qualifications.

The company has been owned by its management team since formation and likely to remain independent for the foreseeable future.

Information technology is used extensively to ensure clients both receive fast response times and optimal results.

Rather than having a purely technical focus, the company's services are characterised by a broad industry perspective and an emphasis on commercially driven, practical solutions.
